December 19th, 2011: Mission San Miguel
This is Mission San Miguel. If you are ever driving North on the 101 coming from SLO it is a definite stopping point — beautiful architecture and fascinating history.
Megan and I drove up from San Luis Obispo on Monday.
We spent the whole 5ish hours talking, listening to music, telling stories, and asking questions. It was a lovely ride and will be one of my favorite from this year.

December 16th, 2011: Spoken with Lines
I listen best when my hands are moving — knitting, drawing, taking mindless notes that I will never look at again, etc. Tonight, I was able to listen to one of the sermons I missed from church last week. The drawing was my listening process and the prayer my conclusions.

December 15th, 2011: Waiting
Each night the moon hid behind the hillside;
It’s shy light lingered upward upon the delicate clouds above.
Silently, they drifted into this unwanted spotlight,
becoming fully aware of every foreign eye.
Wavering towards its next action,
the clouds waited for the foreign attention to pass.
All the while, the moon still hid behind the hills.
I wrote this inspired by my drive home tonight. But I don’t think I was just inspired by the moon — This reflects my heart more than I intended it to. I am learning through expression and creativity.

December 14th, 2011: Waa Waa Waa
I went to Beverly’s to scout out item to buy to accomplish a project idea I’ve had throughout this week. I went to the store and got so distracted… but eventually I found what I was looking for- A rubber block, carving tools, ink, and transfer paper. But after thinking about spending money and calculating the cost of buying these things I decided to wait. So next week, when I am finally home I will use the tools my family has to accomplish this project.
